Twisted Electrons FLEXfm Hybrid Groovebox Opens for Pre-Order
Twisted Electrons has announced pre-orders for the FLEXfm, a standalone groovebox built around an eight-voice sound engine that combines FM, AM, and ring modulation. Each voice runs four operators, giving producers access to over 30 engine types covering classic waveforms, wavetables, vocal formants, physical models, and wavefolding. Four LFOs per voice handle modulation duties, and a joystick lets you morph between sound variations, patterns, or algorithms in real time.
The sequencer supports up to 128 steps with eight sub-steps per step, independent pattern lengths and rates, probability, conditional triggers, and parameter locks. Arrangement tools include eight named song parts, each holding pattern chains and key change cells. On the sampling side, the unit offers eight mono voice pools at 44.1 kHz with up to 16 slice markers each, plus 32 GB of internal storage. Individual outputs cover eight mono voice jacks alongside a stereo main out and headphone output.
A companion editor called FLEXIO runs as a standalone app or as an AU/VST3 plugin on macOS and Windows, streaming eight post-filter voice stems or a stereo mixdown over USB. Ableton Live users get additional integration through an optional Max for Live bridge. Built-in effects include plate reverb with shimmer, a diffusion delay, and a sidechain-capable compressor.
Pre-orders are open now at an introductory price of 999 EUR including VAT, valid until November 13, 2026, after which VAT will be added on top of that figure. Twisted Electrons expects to ship before the end of 2026, with worldwide shipping available. More details are at twisted-electrons.com.
