One of the persistent headaches for producers working with AI music tools is the question of ownership. In most jurisdictions, AI-generated music does not qualify for traditional copyright protection, which leaves creators with little recourse if someone else later claims their work. Amsterdam-based startup musiQproof has announced a platform aimed at filling that gap.

The service lets producers, composers, and songwriters generate a Certified Proof of Creation for any track, whether it is fully AI-generated, fully human-made, or somewhere in between. The certification is built on the eIDAS framework used across Europe and the RFC 3161 timestamping standard, which is recognized internationally. The resulting Evidence Package is designed to hold up as independently verifiable documentation if an ownership dispute ever arises.

Creators can also log the specifics of how a track was made, noting which sections were human-composed, which were AI-generated, and which AI model was involved. That kind of transparent record could be useful not just legally but also for clearing samples or satisfying distributor requirements as platform policies around AI content continue to evolve.

Founder Marvin Kuijs says the platform was built to give creators a practical way to establish prior existence of a work before it is published or shared. The certification process reportedly takes under 30 seconds after uploading a file. musiQproof is available now worldwide.
