Joranalogue Audio Design has announced that its Flow 3, a compact auto-dynamic filter module for Eurorack, is now available as of August 25. The module fits into 6 HP and centers on a state variable filter topology that simultaneously outputs low-pass, bandpass, and high-pass signals, each with standard -12 dB/oct or -6 dB/oct slopes depending on the output type.

The filter’s resonance can be pushed into self-oscillation, and Joranalogue has built in temperature compensation and calibration so that it tracks pitch reliably enough to serve as a quadrature sine/cosine VCO when needed. At minimum resonance, the module exhibits a Linkwitz-Riley filter response, which lets it function as a crossover for splitting audio into low and high bands for dual-band processing.

The distinguishing feature is the onboard decay generator and envelope follower, which can modulate the filter’s cutoff frequency automatically. Trigger inputs fire decay envelopes, while an AUTO mode lets the module track the amplitude of the incoming signal directly. The two modes can run at the same time. Joranalogue notes that this makes generating analogue kick drum sounds relatively straightforward, though the module is general-purpose enough for broader patching applications.

Flow 3 draws 45 mA from both the +12 V and -12 V rails, includes reverse polarity protection, and ships with a power cable, mounting hardware, and a hex key. It is available now through Joranalogue’s dealer network at an MSRP of €215 EUR or $225 USD.
