All bio’s for Spotify, iTunes, etc are provided by external databases managed by Rovi, TiVo, AllMusic Guide & AMG. But no more! Now every artist & musician can upgrade there bio on Spotify within their Artist Account! No more submissions to editorial teams for consideration, and no more waiting!
Spotify gave us the bio tool to change our bio directly within your artist account, whenever you like, keeping it fresh for your fans. We got a whopping 1500 character limit to tell your story.
Note: artist press photos can not be uploaded or changed with this tool. (Let’s hope Spotify will make a tool for this in the future!)
Here’s how you can change your Spotify bio
ADD YOUR BIO ON SPOTIFY
Follow these steps and recommendations from the Spotify for Artists Blog:
- Open Spotify for Artists
- go to Profile, and scroll down to the text field under “Artist Bio.”
- Write whatever you want! I recommend a creative bio that helps fans get to know you better, but seriously go nuts.
Link to anything on Spotify. You can paste Spotify links directly into the text field, or just use the @ symbol to link to whatever you want! artists or albums that inspire you, or playlists you’re featured on, or other artists you’ve collaborated with.
You can also add a link to your Wikipedia page for fans who want to dig deeper.
One important note: If you’ve currently got a Rovi bio, once you add your own bio description, you can’t get your original Rovi bio back. As with all content, your bio needs to follow Spotify’s guidelines.
I am so great-full for this awesome bio upgrade within the artist account! Are you excited?
